States is lower than the percentage of vegetarians in India.

Lots of animals are worshipped and are seen as sacred beings. Ie. The elephant God.

So, it obviously would be really bad to eat something that is divine and sacred

India's beliefs.

People in India often wont eat meat because it could be a life of one of their ancestors reincarnated. For further examples look up Jainism. This is an extreme but good example. Also, people in the USA tend to be overindulgent in food if i do say so myself hahahhah!
