the correct answer would be four.

Meiosis is a type of cell division in which a parent cell divides to produce four daughter cells.

Each daughter cell contains half the chromosome number of the parent cell.

It is mainly used in the production of gametes (egg or sperm) in sexually reproducing organisms.

For example, in spermatogenesis, primary spermatocyte (2n) undergoes meiosis I produce two daughter cells which are termed secondary spermatocytes (n).

Each secondary spermatocytes undergo meiosis II to produce two daughter cells each.

Thus, a total of four daughter cells are produced which are termed as spermatids (n).
