Answer: Clomid is a drug that is taken orally and used to stimulate the process of ovulation in women who experience irregular ovulation and therefore, failure of pregnancy.

Clomid works by blocking the receptors of estrogen hormone that are present at the 'hormonal control center' of the body, which is hypothalamus.

Due to this, hypothalamus gets stimulated and releases FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) and LH (luteinizing hormone), which promote the process of ovulation in ovaries.

During the initial days of menstrual cycle, the ovarian cycle begins in the ovary (process of maturation of ovarian follicles begin). That is why, it is the best time to take this drug.
