    After many different investigations, scientists obtained several shreds of evidence to support this theory.

    Explanation:

    It is supported by evidence from different scientific branches, such as genetics, geology, paleontology and developmental biology. Darwin's theory of evolution is the most accepted and substantiated theory in biological sciences. Darwin had no clue about genetics but his theory was purely based on evolutionary characters or traits.
