    The four layers of alimentary canal are;

    1. Mucosa

    2. Submucosa

    3. Muscular externa

    4. Serosa

    Explanation:

    1. Mucosa it is coated with normal columnar epithelium. it contains or secrets mucus enzymes and hormones, protects internal layers and absorbs digested end product.

    2. Submucosa It is made up of areolar connective tissue, twists around the mucosa and contains blood and lymph vessels and also nerves that serve as nearby tissues.

    3. M-externa it is composed of smooth muscle that plays role of motility in the alimentary canal.

    4. Serosa It is an epithelial connective tissue membrane that anchors the alimentary canal in the abdominal cavity
