N general terms, equilibrium means a state of balance. Genetic equilibrium can occur if the allele frequencies in a population do not change over time. However, in order for genetic equilibrium to take place, which of the following conditions must be met:

Choose all that are correct

a

The population must be infinitely large.

b

There must be random mating and all of the members of the population must breed.

c

No natural selection can occur.

d

No mutations can occur

In order for genetic equilibrium to take place, following conditions must be met:

The population must be infinitely large.

There must be random mating and all of the members of the population must breed.

    No natural selection can occur.

    No mutations can occur.

There can be no migration into or out of the population.

    Explanation:

According to Hardy Weinberg equilibrium principle for genetic equilibrium to occur there should be following conditions:

No mutation should occur in the genes of any individual.

No natural selection process so no evolution.

Random mating in population should be there.

No inflow of new genes in gene pool eg no selective or outbreeding ...

    Population must be large.

For population to be in equilibrium the frequency of alleles and genotype frequency should be constant for many generations. Such condition is to stop the evolution process.

If the alleles in 2 generations remains same the population is said to be in genetic equilibrium.

Genetic variation will not happen in such population. Genetic equilibrium disruption tells the deviation and change in characters of a population.
