How are vascular systems of plants in the rainforest might have affected animal behavior?

Vascular systems allow movement of nutrients around the body like our circulatory system right? As well as transport wastes, antibodies, and other functions. If we have this ability to transport nutrients relatively quickly around the body, it's evolutionarily advantageous and promotes survival. Suddenly we can grow large, adorn our branches with leaves and flowers and create tasty fruit for animals to eat and they will distribute our seeds elsewhere. This means more trees and more food for animals. That means more animals. And over time they will adapt better to the new food source or to the environment changed with its introduction.

Non-vascular plants will have to rely on diffusion/osmosis, a slow process in large tissues. They have a hard time retaining water, because they don't have that system in place to distribute it effectively. These reasons lead to why they have fairly low metabolic levels, thus they're unable to really expend all that much energy.

As for rainforests specifically, all I know is they are diverse in life because of their hot temperature and humidity, which is very favourable because it gives species energy and water respectively. Year round it's always good living, and they don't have to go far to get water.
