If the person who is going to undergo a radical hemispherectomy can expect recovery if he is a child because the brain of the children are not fully developed so the reorganization of the brain can almost cause complete recovery and the loss of function will also be limited. In children the part of the hemisphere which remains gets rewired to carry out the functions of the missing hemisphere. If the person is an adult it may lead to loss of function as adult brains are developed and are not capable of reorganizing easily so the removal of the hemisphere can lead to motor deficiencies severely.
