The correct answer is: A. Get shorter

Since the shorter plants are better adapted for survival (the tall ones are eaten by the birds) this trait will be favored by the natural selection.

Natural selection is an evolutionary mechanism by which populations adapt and evolve. The best suited ones to an environment will survive and reproduce most successfully, in this case the shorter plants.

    A. Get Shorter

    Explanation:

If the taller sunflower plants die off, the only sunflowers left will be the shorter ones who will reproduce with the remaining shorter sunflowers and the population will soon only consist of short sunflowers.
