    Explanation:

    Density is given by mass per volume.;

    D = M / V

    While the mass of the gas is not changing, the volume of the gas is changing based on the pressure applied to the gas. If the volume increases, then the density of the gas decreases (because of mass decreases per volume). If the volume decreases then the density increases (because mass per volume increases).
