How does osmotic pressure affect plants structure? The more water stored in the vacuole, the more structural support plants receive. Osmotic pressure prevents plants from loosing water. Osmotic pressure allows plants to receive more sunlight during the day. Water in the vacuole prevents plants from being eaten by animals.

    The more water stored in the vacuole, the more structural support plants receive. THis is why plants wither (lose structure) when they have not been watered.
