    Glycogen is the example of carbohydrate stored in our body and in adipose tissues provide long term storage of energy. it is made up of thousands glucose units. it is also stored in muscles and brain. the energy provided by glycogen is used to support metabolic functions of body. when their is the deficiency of energy. liver starts breakdown of glycogen to glucose to compensate the body needs.
