carbon has six proteins, six neutrons, and six electrons. Oxygen has eight protons, eight neutrons and eight electrons.

    Carbon which has six protons, electrons but may not have six neutrons because to determine the number of neutrons you need to know the atomic number (i. e number of protons/electrons) and the mass number.

    Neutron number=Mass number-Atomic number

    The same applies to oxygen.
