The water cycle is a cycle that is constantly happening and it has a huge effect on the life on our planet. Under the influence of the sun, or rather the heat from it, the water is evaporating from the water bodies, and since the water vapor is lighter than the air masses it goes up into the higher parts of the atmosphere. Also, the plants are releasing the surplus water from their leaves, in a process called transpiration, so that water too goes into the atmosphere.

Once the water vapor reaches the colder part of the atmosphere it starts to condensate, and is does that, clouds are created. Under the influence of the gravity, the drops of water start falling back on Earth in the form of precipitation. The precipitation leads to the water to fall on the ground and in the water bodies. At certain places the water manages to get through the rocks, like though the limestone, in a process called percolation, where the water travels inside the ground, and than comes out at certain places called springs. From those springs, the water in the form of a runoff manages to get back to the bigger water bodies, and than the process repeats itself.
