Why do sex linked traits appear more often in males than females?

    Sex-linked traits are carried by the X chromosome. Woman have XX and men have XY meaning that although woman have an extra X chromosome: for recessive x linked diseases woman will have a 25% chance of having the phenotypic expression (Only xx will have disease, XX Xx & xX will not).

    However men will have a 50% chance of phenotypically expressing the gene (xY will and XY will not)
