After its ovulation from the ovary, it goes to the oviduct or the fallopian tubes where the fertilization usually takes place

ovary: Its function is to produce ovum by the process of oogenesis.

oviduct or fallopian tube: function is to provide for the egg to get fertilized here.

If no fertilization takes place, then the ovum or the egg is known as unfertilized egg or ovum

Now the egg travels to the uterus where it does not get implanted as it is not fertilized.

uterus: here, the fertilized zygote is implanted for it to change into a foetus or embryo.

The egg that is unfertilized goes out through the female genital tract (vagina)

    along with the menstrual flow.
