Gene transfer using a gene gun. This is the second method of gene transfer in plants. The so-called gene gun fires gold particles containing foreign DNA into the cells of the plants. Few of these particles can pass through the cell wall and reach the cell nucleus where the gene can integrate itself into the chromosomes.
