The loop of Henlē reabsorbs most of the water present in the glomerula filtrate. Then the distal convoluted tubule, based on how much water is present in the blood of the organism, would reabsorb more water if necessary. This is done when the hypothalamus in the brain detects the water concentration and the pituitary gland secretes a hormone called Anti Diuretic Hormone (ADH). ADH prevents water from being reabsorbed. If there is little water in the body, more ADH would be secreted. If there is a lot of water, less ADH would be secreted.

The part of the nephron that conserves water and minimizes the volume of urine is the loop of Henle. This loop is a U-shaped portion of the tubule that conducts urine within each nephron of the kidney. Hope this answers the question. Have a nice day.
