The source code of transcription is the DNA!

Transcription is the process in which a portion of the DNA is copied into the RNA. The DNA is located in the cell nucleus. The information stored on it is copied over to RNA - this is what transcription is - and then the RNA can carry this information to the ribosomes who can produce proteins.
