What would cause a particular polygenic trait, like tall stature in humans, to become more frequent in a population over time?

    Natural selection causes favorable or superior traits in organisms. These favorable genes like that for tallness (women are attracted to taller men) would also them to reproduce more often and then these genes are passed on to the next generation. Over time, the tall genes become more common or frequent.
