As a galaxy gets farther away from Earth it gets faster.

    Explanation:

First, moving away "from the Earth". They certainly aren’t going away from the Earth. Everything is moving apart from everything else. No matter where you are in this expanding world, everything else will seem to be dropping from you. The space in within the galaxies is expanding! And the farther away a universe is the more space there is to increase so the faster the galaxy appears to move away from us.

After the Big Bang happened, the universe is constantly expanding. The Universe has expanded for around 13.7 billion years. The further a galaxy is, the faster it would move away from Earth. This principle is called the conservation of momentum.
