Harold has psoriasis, a skin disorder that speeds up the life cycle of the skin cells. the keratinocytes mature too rapidly, and dead skin cells build up on the epidermal surface in scaly patches. how does a cell become keratinized?

    Good Morning!

    The keratinization of a cell occurs due to the large production of the keratin protein. This protein is produced the closer the cell approaches the surface of the epidermis. Keratin breaks the nucleus of cells and kills cells, turning them into dead cells.
