The water cycle: Precipitation, surface runoff and ground water, evaporation from bodies of water and transpiration from plants (transpiration from plants is basically the evaporation of water off of plants), last is condensation. Then the cycle starts again with precipitation.

The role of a river basin is to send all of the water that it catches to a central river that eventually leads out into an estuary or an ocean.
