Diamond deposits are formed in the earth mantle and release to the earth surface by mean of volcanic eruptions which produce kimberlites. The formation of diamonds require very high temperatures and pressures. These conditions exist below the earth surface at the depth of about 150 kilometers and 1050 degree Celsius temperature.
