What structure do the cells of a maple tree and the cells of a beetle have in common

    Both plant cells and animal cells share characteristics such as nucleus, cytoplasm and a cell membrane. The nucleus controls what goes in and out of the cell, the cytoplasm is where cell activity and chemical reactions occur and the cell membrane holds the cell together.
