    Homeostasis is the body's regulatory mechanism that keeps us alive and functioning properly. There are two different types of feedback mechanisms associated with homeostasis: Negative feedback and Positive feedback. Negative feedback keep our body from straying too far from regular values such as maintaing blood pressure or blood pH. Positive feedback is when our body strays from the normal range. When a woman gives birth she needs to produce contractions. The body responds by releasing hormones that create more contractions
