The process of DNA replication occurs before G2 Phase.

Cell division cycle can be defined as a process that places in cells which results into division and duplication of its DNA to produce daughter cells. It is made up of four distinct phases: G1 phase, S phase (Synthesis), G2 phase (interphase) and the M phase (Mitosis). G1 phase is also known as growth phase and the cells in this phase are metabolically active and continuously grow but they do not replicate their DNA.

Thus G1 is followed by S phase where replication of DNA occurs and the completion of DNA synthesis is followed by G2 phase. In G2 Phase, proteins are synthesized in preparation for mitosis and the growth of cell continues. Also, during G2 Phase, there is reorganization of microtubules to form spindles.
