How does the grand canal promote transport of goods in China

    The Grand Canal is the longest canal in the world. It is also a famous tourist destination. The canal was first constructed during the Sui dynasty. The King Fu Chai of Wu ordered the digging of the canal between the Yangtze and the Huaihe River for the purpose of transporting troops to launch an attack on to the state of Qi. In 605 A. D., emperor Yang Di established the Eastern Capital in Luoyang and this is how the trasport of goods was promoted in the Grand Canal.
