There are two type of peripheral neurons namely the sensory and the motor. The sensory is responsible of informing the brain of what is around us and the motor carry the messages from the brain to the muscles and glands. So, when a mosquito lands on your arm, the sensory send this message to the spinal cord and the brain. As a response, the brain uses motor neurons which will cause contraction in the muscles.
