    3. They cannot undergo binary fission.

    5. They use the ribosomes of the host cells.

    Viruses are known to infect both plants and animals. Viruses are obligate parasites i. e. they must live in a host (cell) in order to survive and reproduce. otherwise they die if they cannot enter a host (cell).
