Cells usually transfer the energy that is released directly to ATP.

ATP is a molecule in the cells that temporarily stores energy when it is not needed then releases it when it is needed.

ATP stands for adenosine triphosphate. It can be used in different chemical reactions and has thus been named the universal energy currency. When broken down, a portion of the energy released from ATP particles creates even more ATP, repeating the process of energy production.

ATP aids in cell efficiency by ensuring that cells lose only minimal amounts of energy.
