The difference between these two groups is the existence of a membraned nucleus. Prokaryotes mean before the kayron that is before the nucleus, while eukaryotes means after the kayron was developed, that is after the cell nucleus was developed. Prokaryotes are mostly bacteria while eukaryotes are all normally imagined cells such as those in plants and animals.
