Using what you have learned about carbon bonds and energy in this lesson what can you say about the amount of carbon bonds in this food component compared to the amount of carbon bonds in the other two food components? Why?

    The amount of carbon bonds in fat is much greater than the amount in carbohydrates and proteins. Fats give you the most energy per gram, so there must be more carbon bonds to break, thereby releasing more energy.
