Bumblebees show some ability to control their

own body temperature. During cold weather,

bumblebees have been observed warming their

flight muscles by shivering. The bees are able to

maintain a body temperature several degrees

above that of the surrounding air. Regulation of

their internal body temperature is an example of

Regulation of their internal body temperature is an example of homeostasis. The correct option among all the options given in the question is option "4". Homeostasis is the process by which variables can be maintained so that the internal conditions can remain in a stable or constant state. The body temperature of the bumblebee needs to be maintain and that is why during the winter season the bees have to shiver their flight muscles to keep their body temperature constantly a few degrees above the surrounding air. Without this process it would have been difficult for the bees to survive in cold weather.
