Birds, just like, aquatic creatures all had one ancestor, over time the species started to spread out and due to natural selection they where forced to adapt to the enviornment they where in, resulting in the seperated species evolving differently; birds in this case most likely scientefically proven has in an environment not near the ground, starting from climbing high, and to survive that flapped there arms a certain way resulting them to me stuck that way forever, so eventually with the wings beings stuck they used they're head more for food, (pecking) and since they ate little they're bodies got smaller, and not being able to defend themselves as they rab, they flapped, somewhat like an osterich, * - eventually they got smaller, and where able to hold they're weight, but birds solemnly depend on the wind to fly sometimes
