Actually, a tertiary consumer obtains energy from a secondary consumer, a secondary consumer from a primary consumer, and a primary consumer from a producer. A tertiary consumer only receives 0.1 percent of the energy that is transferred. The rest is released through heat.

Tertiary consumers are like lions, snakes they feed on flesh of animals for example rat, the rat eats the weeds the weeds gets its energy from the sun and then when the rat consumes it, it also obtain it's energy from the weeds then the snake or lion also feeds on the rat so it's from the sunlight to the weeds to the rat and then to the snake or lion
