How do environmental catastrophes tend to influence environmental policies in state and local governments

Catastrophes come as thief's, uninvited! They largely influence the policies and sometimes strict policies are implemented after the damage has been done. Government at this time are however aware of the Global Warming and are already taking measures to keep the environment safe.

These simple measures can affect the communities and families, just reexamining and revisiting these environmental decrees. Also, they study and innovate the effectivity of their meteorological, geometric and atmospheric equipment to better detect and enhance these tools.
