It is false that autism is a type of personality disorder.

Although it does affect somebody’s personality, usually negatively, it is not a personality disorder, given that it affects the central neural system and is considered to be a neurodevelopmental disorder. This means that it affects the brain and general behavior, as well as memory, learning abilities, etc. As you already know, autism often appears at a person’s very young age, and is characterized by a lack of communication, as well as social interactions. And here is a list of all personality disorders for the time being: paranoid, schizoid, schizotypal, antisocial, borderline, histrionic, narcissistic, avoidant, dependent, and obsessive-compulsive.
