Explain what physical process causes a cell to change size.

    Several different types of physical processes can cause a cell to change size. One example could be the application of mechanical force on the cell which can cause the cell's size to reduce or shape to become deformed. Similarly, when more water enters the cell, the cell's shape becomes turgid, causing it to be plump and turgid.
