What do diffusion and active transport have in common

Both diffusion as well as active transport share the elementary similarity of moving certain compounds in our bodies, or bodies of any organism for that matter through it in order to perform a certian function. How exactly it is moved and how long it takes is, however, quite different for both types of transport.
