If a mutation occurs, leaving 12 bases, what is the maximum number of amino acids that could be coded

for by this DNA segment?

    The answer is 4 amino acids. Because one amino acid is coded by three bases. And 12 bases are left, so there can be 4 amino acids be coded maximum.
