Before urine or filtrate leaves your body, it has to go through the urinary tract. This pathway includes the kidneys which contain the nephrons that filter waste from your blood and produce filtrates. Upon passing through the kidneys, it travels to the bladder and towards the ureters and is passed out from the body.
