    Egg cells also called ovum or oocyte are cells that form part of a woman's reproductive system and are on of the largest cells in the female body.

    Sperm cells are the male reproductive cells. They are small (microscopic) and are elongated, having a head, mid-section and tail.

    Sperm

    1. It is along flagellated, motile cell differentiated into head, middle piece and tail.

    2. They have a negligible amount of cytoplasm and the nucleus is exceedingly compact

    3. Sperm are produced in large numbers.

    Ovum

    1. It is the female gamete produced in the ovary.

    2. It is a rounded sphere and non-motile

    3. Has a bulky cytoplasm and centrally place nucleus

    4. Produced singly (in humans)
