Why when you rub a balloon on a piece of fabric or carpeting and then hold it against your head, your hair can stand up?

    Static Electricity caused from the rubbing causes your hair to stand up

    Static electricity builds up through the balloon and to your hair making them attract, so when you lift up the balloon your hair attracts to your hair.
