At what depth in the ocean are aquatic plants able to produce the most sugars using photosynthesis?

    It would be near the surface of the ocean waters wherein photosynthesis would most likely be more efficient. This is due to more exposure to sunlight wherein sea plants utilise it as an important component to undergo the process on the production of their food and for cellular respiration.
