How does cardiac muscle differ from the other types of muscle?

    The cell architecture is different ... some cells in the purkinje fibres, a part of cardiac muscle modified for conductivity has no appreciable contractility at all, while the conductivity is greatly enhanced. they are involuntary, like smooth muscles. but they are also striated, like skeletal muscles.
