Half of the guinea pigs will have black fur, while the other half will have white fur. This is because the black is dominant, masking the white gene. But when both genes are recessive, the offspring will have white fur.

Well use H to represent the dominant allele and h to represent the recess allele.

The Guinea pig with white fur has hh

The Guinea pig with black fur has Hh

by doing a punnet square you can figure out what the offspring will have

    H. h

    h. Hh. hh

    h. Hh. hh

So this means that half have the heterozygous dominant trait (Hh) and half have the homozygous recessive trait (hh).

The black allele is dominant and the white is recessive. So half are white half are black.
