Describe cell specialization. Why is it important that cells are able to specialize?

    If cells couldn't specialize, then the heart and other important organs would not function because if all cells did the same thing, the human would be one massive organ.

    Unicellular organisms are composed of a single cell. Multicellular organisms are composed of many specialized cells. Specialized cells differ in structure (size, shape ...) and function (the role they perform in the organism).
