Fats are a class of lipids formed by esters of three fatty acid chains and glycerol, for which they are called triglycerids.

Saturaed fats are triglycerids that are solid at room temperature. The fatty acid chains are saturated, which means that they contain only single carbon-to-carbon bonds (i. e. there are not double or triple bonds).
