Why is there a debate on labeling a virus as living or non-living

    Because it does to contain any organelles like prokaryotes and eukaryotes. I consists only of the virus genome (genetic material and proteins).

    Because they need a host cell to reproduce, so they cannot reproduce on their own, but they are a lot like living things in that they move and infect our bodies and make us sick.
